Metsimaholo Local Municipality informs residents, businesses, and all affected stakeholders of a major electricity outage affecting Eco Industrial Park and Chemcity. The Department of Electrical Services has identified a major cable fault on the line between the Waterworks and Chemcity substation, resulting in the total loss of power. The municipality is treating this matter with the highest level of urgency, and an approved external service provider has been deployed with specialized fault detection equipment to accurately locate the fault, carry out the necessary repairs, and conduct testing to ensure the safe restoration of electricity. Due to the complexity of the fault and the specialized jointing work required, repair teams will work continuously until power has been restored.

Residents and business are urged to always treat all electrical installations and connections as live during the outage, as electricity supply may be restored without prior warning. Metsimaholo Local Municipality sincerely apologizes for the inconveniences caused and assures all affected customers that every effort is being made to restore electricity as safely and as quickly as possible.
